Filo Feta Bites

Let’s get something straight, filo-dough-wrapped-anything is already magical, but wrapped around tiny bites of feta cheese with fresh harvested honey?! These bites are so easy to impress guests and highlight the magic of really good ingredients—which I tend to love to say. These are simple, elegant, and so dang tasty. Y’all gotta give ‘em a try!

INGREDIENTS

1 block (8 oz) feta cheese in brine, chopped into cubes

1 sheet of Filo dough per cube of feta cheese (you don’t necessarily need entire sheets of Filo dough; I end up using a few sheets for this recipe but you can always double/triple the recipe as needed. 1 block of feta cheese gives me about 10-12 cubes/bites)

Good olive oil, for drizzling

Sesame seeds, for topping

Honey, for drizzling

Instructions:

  1. Defrost Filo dough according to instructions. Preheat oven to 350 F.

  2. Cube feta cheese block.

  3. Drizzle Filo dough sheet with good olive oil, wrap feta in Filo dough.

  4. Place Filo-wrapped feta bites on parchment lined baking sheet. Top bites with more olive oil and sesame seeds.

  5. Bake in oven for 25-35 mins until golden brown.

  6. Drizzle with honey once out of the oven while they are still hot. Enjoy!
