Limoncello Tiramisu
A fun twist on the classic Italian dessert combining 2 iconic Italian flavors: limoncello & tiramisu. Traditional ladyfingers soaked in limoncello layered with a lemony mascarpone cream and lemon curd make for a tangy, creamy indulgence that is perfect for summer nights!
Ingredients
2 cups mascarpone cheese (16 oz container)
1/4 - 1/3 cup lemon curd, homemade or store bought
1/4 cup limoncello
1 tbsp good vanilla extract
1 medium-sized lemon, zested & juiced
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1/3 cup powdered sugar
2 packages ladyfingers
Mixture of limoncello & dash of water, for soaking ladyfingers*
*Can also use a mixture of 1/2 cup water, 1/4 cup sugar, & zest and juice of 1 lemon to soak the ladyfingers in if you prefer a more subtle lemon flavor!
Instructions
Cream together mascarpone, lemon curd, limoncello, vanilla extract, & juice/zest of one lemon. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, cream together whipping cream & powdered sugar until you get stiff peaks.
Use a spatula to fold whipped cream into mascarpone mixture.
Put a layer of the cream mixture at the bottom of your baking dish. Take the ladyfingers one at a time and soak them quickly in limoncello, layering them one at a time next to each other on top of the cream mixture. On top of the ladyfingers, add a layer of the cream mixture and then a layer of lemon curd. Top cream/lemon curd with a second layer of ladyfingers and finish with one last layer of cream mixture. Allow tiramisu to set up in the fridge overnight before serving.
Finish with fresh lemon zest, thinly sliced lemon slices, & edible flowers. Enjoy!
