Summertime S’mores Skillet
Allow summertime to commence with my chocolate peanut butter s’mores skillet—perfect for those summer nights you crave a s’more but don’t crave building a fire. Grab your kitchen torch and relish in the deliciousness of a peanut buttery, chocolatey, rich and decadent skillet dessert right in your kitchen! My family always makes our s’mores with Reese’s peanut butter cups, so I have translated that into this recipe to be reminiscent of my favorite summer nights at the lake around the campfire. I hope you enjoy this easy summertime dessert as much as I do!
Ingredients
2 tbsp salted butter, softened
1 bag marshmallows
2 semisweet chocolate bars, broken into pieces
4 peanut butter cups, broken into pieces
Graham crackers for topping/dipping
**I use Hershey’s chocolate bars and Reese’s peanut butter cups for this recipe.
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Put 2 tbsp salted butter on bottom of an 8 in cast iron skillet. Add the chocolate and peanut butter cups, scattering throughout the bottom of the pan with the butter.
Place marshmallows vertically atop the chocolate and peanut butter cups.
Put skillet with chocolate, peanut butter cups, and marshmallows in oven for about 10-15 minutes until marshmallows become puffy and begin toasting to a golden brown color.
Pull out from oven and torch with a kitchen torch to achieve campfire-like toasted marshmallows. (You could also turn your oven to Broil and leave the skillet in the oven until you get your desired “toasty-ness” but i much prefer the kitchen torch & think it does the job perfectly.)
Top with graham cracker crumbs and more pieces of peanut butter cups. Serve with graham cracker sticks to dunk with! Enjoy!
