Tiramisu Board
Tiramisu board: the new board in town! I have a deep love for the traditional Italian dessert. I still have my list from when I was abroad in Italy of where the best tiramisu was. Essentially, I would order tiramisu at every dinner and then rate it in the Notes section of my phone. Don’t get me wrong, I love making tiramisu from scratch and even in individual cups or bowls for friends and family. But, when I’m lazy and want the tiramisu-goodness, but can’t be bothered with the layering and waiting for the flavors to meld, I created the tiramisu board. You basically whip up a mascarpone-whipped cream mixture and then plate and top with espresso powder. To me, it tastes just like my top-rated tiramisu from Italy, in a fraction of the time! I hope you enjoy.
Ingredients
1 tub, 8.8 oz mascarpone cheese, I use the BelGioioso brand
2-3 tbsp heavy whipping cream
2-3 tbsp Bailey’s Irish Cream
1 tsp granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
Espresso powder, for dusting
Almond biscotti, for serving (my favorite is Trader Joe’s Soft Bite Mini Almond Biscotti!)
Instructions
Mix together mascarpone in a bowl with an electric mixer until fluffy.
Add in whipping cream, sugar, and vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste. Whip again until combined.
Add in Bailey’s Irish Cream to your liking, I use about 2-3 tablespoons. However, I think this step is entirely up to you depending on how much you like the taste of Bailey’s. The flavor melds beautifully with the rest of the components and allows for a deeper richness in the cream that mimics tiramisu. Mix until combined.
Arrange with an offset spatula on a marble serving tray. I like to serve with marble, rather than a wooden board, because marble ensures the cream will stay chilled. You can store in the fridge until ready to serve. Once ready, dust with espresso powder and enjoy with almond biscotti.
